TRANSFORMERS

Recycling transformers
Transformers are found all around us. They could be small electrical transformers in buildings, right through to large-scale installations in industrial facilities, factories and, of course, power stations. The removal and recycling of transformers from large installations comes under a category of its own and is handled as an independent project, as the dismantling is unique and usually very complex. Both individual components and complete installations can be disposed of. The demolition of power stations or factories is referred to as facility recycling.
Transformers are complex devices and this makes them difficult to dispose of. They contain a lot of oil, amongst other things. Even though this is just a waste product, it still needs to be drained professionally and directed into the correct waste disposal chain. Transformers are separated in so-called dismantling stations. The transformer copper is a valuable component. It is extremely high quality and amounts to about 20% of the total.
